Thorough robotic vacuum cleaning, when you want it, with the Roomba 560 robot vacuum cleaner. The ability to program cleaning schedules, up to 7 times per week, means that the iRobot 560 can clean in your absence!
The 560, when compared to the Roomba 780, does not have the capability of using a Lighthouse, to keep the iRobot 560 in one room, until is finished and then allow it in.
It also uses a standard bin and not the more advanced AeroVac Bin. There is only one bin included and extra filters and brushes are absent.
However, the price is a lot less than any of the 700 series robotic vacuums.
Here we see the robotic vacuum, following along a wall, with the rotating side brush scooping up debris and moving it under the body, to the counter-rotating brushes, that act like a dustpan and a broom, with a powerful vacuum attached.
Note that the on-board scheduling allows up to 7 programs per week to be stored, so that the 560 can vacuum when you are absent.
This photo shows the robotic vacuum, making a transition from hardwood to a carpet. The suspension system allows Roomba to automatically adjust between carpet, tile, linoleum and hardwood floors.
The Dirt Detect Technology uses an acoustic sensor to find excess dirt and multiple pass those areas, until clean.
Anti-Tangle Technology allows the robot to traverse carpet fringes and tassels, without tangling.
The iRobot Roomba 560 is just 3.6" high, so it can maneuver under furniture and beds. The Light Touch Bumper Technology can tell the difference between soft barriers and solid barriers, such as walls and furniture legs. This allows the robot vacuum cleaner to pass curtains and bed and furniture skirts.
As long as the 560 starts the cycle at the Home Base then it will return there to re-charge or when the cleaning cycle is complete.
There are 2 Auto Virtual Walls included in the 560 package. They emit an infrared light, that Roomba can sense and will not break. This means that doorways or other areas can be closed off to the robot vacuum cleaner.
The beam is 4-7 feet long and each unit is powered by 2 C-cell batteries.
Note that the Auto Virtual Wall does not have to be turned on or off. When switched to "Auto", the batteries will last up to 6 months.
